Hopefully this video motivates more business owners and executives to re-evaluate their company culture if they are indeed a ‘workplace for people’ or ‘workplace for machines and animals’ using people as a substitute production equipment and are hence getting poor results.
This makes me understand great business leaders such as Tony Hsieh of Zappos even more. There is a chapter about Zappos in Dianne Crampton’s team culture book, ” “TIGERS Among Us: Winning Business Team Cultures And Why They Thrive”.
It’s great to see how a company in real life builds a company culture that enables the motivators discussed by Daniel Pink (autonomy, contribution, mastery) and the amazing business results and employee satisfaction it generates.
